Should have bought this sooner.
Not as easy to set up as claimed. Biggest problem I had was connecting to my Wi-Fi. An hour later, it works like a charm. My old HP printer never worked right from day one. Had to keep downloading drivers and such. Good Riddance! This is a larger printer than that, but top of the line Durability. Print quality is excellent. Value for money is a plus. Ink capacity comes with beginner color / black and white. I opted for the $5.99 a month Canon ink replacement. They send you the Large Capacity cartages. To me, that’s worth it.

Fine printer. Installing driver was a pain! Maybe you will figure it out easier.
Fine printer. Zero guidance on how to install this model, TR4720. Took me 4 days to get it installed. Had to scan QR code to go to a Canon site that did not recognize or list the model. Finally found a Canon site that let me download this model’s driver, but a Winzip error message said it could not extract it. After days of research and YouTube videos, I found a way in my PC to get the driver working and the printer installed. I like its operation and print quality.

Don’t use the QR Code to install from your phone if you have a PC
I wasted almost an hour with the phone app driven by the QR code. I have a Windows PC with a wireless home network. After losing my temper with the phone app not being able to connect, I decided to download the installer on my PC and it worked like a champ. I printed a test page from the PC and my wife’s phone recognized the printer and successfully printed. I’m still at Windows 10. Please note during the ill-fated Smartphone attempt I did select the network name and entered the net password. YMMV, but I would try from PC 1st using full install pack from Canon. It is a very inexpensive ‘all-in-one’ printer and expect it to serve my limited needs. The low tray paper feeder will probably not collect as much dust as my former rear feed HP Deskjet 4100 series which lasted over 5 years. It was replaced due to inconsistent page feeds.

I prefer Canon products over the other printers
I only use printer for about approx 200 pages per year, and average 3-4 year life span for previous canon printers, I like this specific printer because it is a compact version of the bigger multi purpose printers, and have had better luck with the Canons over the other brands, mostly because the software seems a little less intrusive. I set my printer up by downloading the latest firmware into the printer, and then only use it with a usb cable to computer, most of my problems in the past were due to the wireless security definitions not being updated with the manufacturers, after they become a few years old, so I prefer the cable connection instead of using it wirelessly.Setting this specific printer up to communicate with a router to enable it to download the latest firmware is a little tricky, especially for trying to enter your wifi password into the printer, for setting it up without the manufacturers software. Below I listed keyboard functions on the printer that will allow you to enter your wifi password, if you are trying to do the same thing I did. This is all done on the printer:1.When entering wifi password,( the asterisk button *) button is located on printer keyboard, bottom left, it is used for switching between lower case, upper case and number functions for a password, (the symbol button #) is located directly to the right of the asterisk button, and will switch between all symbols and special characters of a regular keyboard if your using symbols as part of your password, after entering your wifi password, press ok, printer will confirm after your connected to internet.2. press button with picture of pliers and screwdriver located on top of the printer3. press device functions option, then ok button4. press firmware update option, then ok button, this may take 1-3 attempts.5. plug usb printer cable, (not included with printer) from printer to computer.6. locate printer in your printer settings, on your computer and install, which will vary between, PC, MAC or a Chromebook.

read if you’re a college student
Pros and cons of this as a college student:Pros:- very easy to use and set up, great for ppl that don’t know anything abt printers (me)- prints very well, no jams (so far and it’s been 6 months)- great for its priceCons:- it’s cheap for a reason, omfg the amount of ink this thing eats is insane, if you’re in a class where you need to print stuff, DO NOT GET THIS. just go to your school library and pay the $0.10.- louder af, pls sometimes ill forget to print something during the day. but i feel so bad wanting to print at night because ITS SO DAMN LOUD. atp i might to go down to the library to print it bc i don’t wanna wake my roommate upconclusion:if you’re a broke college student this might not be the best printer for you, if you’re already paying tons for books and whatever, adding on the price of ink. THIS AINT WORTH ITnow if your a rich mami with moola and looking for a simple printer, this might (??) be the one. idrk idk anything abt printers and i picked the first cheap one i saw. CLEARLY DONT DO WHAT I DID.

Worth the money
This has been the best printer I have ever owned. It prints so smooth. Never smudges. You can buy the ink cartridges on Amazon or Walmart. I print from my phone all the time and never had issues.

Great Quality with Affordable pricing
The printer is exceptionally helpful for my personal and professional needs. It made my life easier with my current requirements. The installation is pretty easy and printer is quite compatible with my laptop and mobile phone. I can seamlessly print the files with just a tap with great ease via mobile and laptop. The cartridge quality is too good, the black and white and colored prints are of great quality with top notch precision. Affordable pricing makes this my first choice without compromising quality.
